The IBM Lotus and WebSphere Portal Business Solutions Catalog Apps RSS Feed

The IBM Lotus and WebSphere Portal Business Solutions Catalog allows you to create a category-specific RSS feed for available products and apps, which you can easily add to the Lotus Notes Client sidebar via the RSS Reader Widget.

While this isn't an in-client app store, it certainly helps us move in that direction!

First, you'll want to go to the IBM Lotus and WebSphere Portal Business Solutions Catalog via catalog.lotus.com. Once there, you can load a subset of the solutions housed in the catalog via the Filter Results section located at the top-left of the catalog (seen below).

WebSphere Portal Business Solutions Catalog Filter

Once you apply a filter, you can scroll to the bottom/footer of the filtered catalog listing where you will find a Subscribe to Entries link (seen below).

WebSphere Portal Business Solutions Catalog Filter RSS Feed

You can right-click and copy the URL to what is now a filtered RSS Catalog feed!

For example, the filtered RSS Catalog feed for Lotus Notes and Domino Products is https://greenhouse.lotus.com/catalog/getWidgetFeed?openAgent&fProduct=Lotu s+Notes+and+Domino.

You can now use this RSS Feed URL in your own RSS Feed Readers including the Lotus Notes Client sidebar RSS Feed Reader (pictured below):

I have added my latest three solutions to the catalog:

Each of my solutions can be purchased directly from the catalog... insomuch as the Download button will take you directly to the Paypal purchase/shopping cart for each.

So if you want instant-access to the various solutions available for IBM Lotus Notes and Domino, just add the RSS Feed to your Notes Sidebar.

Have a product (or products) to sell for yourself? Make sure they're in the catalog.

... and on a side note. The Catalog team has been amazingly helpful in both my getting started in submitting solutions, and have been open to suggestions.

If you have any suggestions, you could either contact them directly at catalogs@us.ibm.com or leave a comment on this post and I'll make sure someone there reads it!
