Adding an Embedded Audio Player to your blog!

As mentioned, I've added the ability to include enclosures on posts on this site as well as the new posts feed (at http://feeds.feedburner.com/dominoGuru). The problem was, I didn't include a visual way to present the enclosure to those of you who stop by the site... until today.

Following the steps outlined on the Embedded MP3 Audio Player tutorial, I've added a Flash-based audio player to those posts where I have included an MP3 enclosure.

This is not only a slick new addition to the site to allow me to share the occasional MP3 that I stumble across, but also gives me the chance to do something that I've been considering for a while now: voicing the occasional article on this site.

Now, it's not like I'm in love with my own voice or anything (if fact, I can't stand the sound of my own voice, which I think comes across a little too nasally). I'm just a firm believer that sometimes the best way to deliver an idea is vocally, where you can pick up on the nuances of speech that are often lost in the printed/read medium.

Hopefully it's something that helps get my ideas across (especially on the lengthier articles), and hopefully it adds a richness to the site.

I dunno, in truth: it's Monday on a short work week due to the holiday and I wanted to do something that was fun! You possibly benefiting from it is like a perk! ;-)

So far this feature is only working on Firefox browsers, but as the majority of my readership is using Firefox, I figured that was ok for now. Of course, I'll keep at it to see if I can't make it cross-browser functional.

Update

Jake Ochs suggested - via Facebook - Yahoo! Media Player, which I'm really liking.

I'll leave both up and let you guys decide which you prefer!
