Google Chrome now has extensions and bookmark sync.

I use Google Chrome as my primary browser, Firefox as my development browser, and I check things with Internet Explorer.

So you won't be surprised to know that I was happy to see the following when I opened Chrome today:

New!
Google Chrome now has extensions and bookmark sync.

So, what are extensions and bookmark sync?

Google Chrome Extensions

Google Chrome extensions are a great way to add more features and functionality to the browser. Sometimes, a feature is really useful for some people, but not for everyone. Extensions let you customize Google Chrome with features you like, while keeping your browser free of clutter that you don't use.

Firefox users shouldn't be surprised here. I'm just waiting for the Google Chrome Web Developer Toolbar or the Chrome-version of Firebug: two plugins/extensions that I use in every web development project.

Google Chrome Bookmark Sync

Bookmark Sync makes it easy to keep the same set of bookmarks on multiple computers. When you enable sync, your bookmarks will get stored online in your Google Account. Each additional computer on which you enable sync will receive the same bookmarks.

Once I logged in and synchronized my Chrome bookmarks, I was told that they are stored in Google Docs:

Google Doc also gives you the ability to share your bookmarks with your Google Contacts. Pretty slick.

You can download Google Chrome here, which (provided they fix the radio/checkbox rendering issues with the Windows release) is a definite recommend!
