Came across this in the Confluence Notation Guide - which begs the quesiton: which famous/infamous characters do you use for your examples?

I am inclined to the infamous

    Genghis_Khan_is@the_gates.com
    Attila_The_Hun@magyar_horde.com
    The_Borgias@the_vatican.com
    Stalin_Is@one_with_his_moustache.com

    Or music song titles:

    MeetMe@The_Corner.com
    the_long_ro@dhome.com
    Rambunctious_Boy@Creedence.com
    cyrpus@venue.com

That's easy. I use the Simpsons and the Marx brothers as users. The admins are always from Southpark. When I need several hundred users, I go to my directories of Jazz and Rock musicians.

I tend to use Marvel/DC characters in my examples personally - Peter Parker/Marvel with spiderman as a password, Clark Kent/DC with superman, etc. - but I rarely am in need for examples with what the type of work that I've been doing lately... so I haven't gotten to use the characters lately.

This brings up another question though: would we have to worry about copyright infringement using fictional character names in this way?

The department-run Notes servers at the big (big) bank I worked at out of college where named Ren and Stimpy. I just liked the fact that probably 90% of the people with mail had no idea why the admin(s?) named them that way.

I quite like the Star Trek characters. The important feature is that you can draw an org chart and put everyone on it. Roughly hierarchical with a few dotted lines and odd structures here and there. Pickard at the top, Wesley at the bottom (sorry Will)

A second vote here for Star Trek. My test server is /Starfleet, so everything becomes James T Kirk/Starfleet, Spock/Starfleet, etc.
