Upcoming Review - IBM Lotus Connections 2.5: Planning and Implementing Social Software for Your Enterprise

02/14/2010 01:28:23 PM by Chris Toohey

IBM Lotus Connections 2.5: Planning and Implementing Social Software for Your Enterprise - Upcoming Review on dominoGuru.com Hopefully you have enjoyed the recent run of reviews from this site... since it looks like the reviews (and giveaways) are gonna keep on coming! This time it's IBM Lotus Connections 2.5: Planning and Implementing Social Software for Your Enterprise by Stephen Hardison, David Byrd, Gary Wood, Tim Speed, Michael Martin, Suzanne Livingston, Jason Moore, and Morten Kristiansen.

This IBM Press book -- released December 24th, 2009 -- promises to deliver not only technical understanding of the IBM Lotus Connections 2.5 product, but also an understanding of how it can address your business needs.

From the IBM Press site description:

The first book to cover the newest version of the breakthrough product from IBM: Lotus Connections 2.5. This book includes practical techniques for building dynamic networks of coworkers, partners, and customers that promote innovation, business agility, and authoritative guidance for business and technical planning, deployment, integration, and much more. Social networking is the newest frontier in business collaboration, and IBM Lotus Connections 2.5 gives businesses the tools they need to make the most of it–easily, securely, and cost-effectively.

The sample chapter (Chapter 6, Using Lotus Connections) is available in PDF and covers the basic module-by-module functional overview. It also gives you preview to the writing style and what you can expect as far as quality and content from IBM Lotus Connections 2.5: Planning and Implementing Social Software for Your Enterprise.

I'll be giving this book a first impressions review and the complete 10-Chapter chapter-by-chapter review. So if IBM Lotus Connections (and more specifically getting the most out of IBM Lotus Connections) interests you, this may be something worth checking out.

IBM Press has also offered to send a copy of IBM Lotus Connections 2.5: Planning and Implementing Social Software for Your Enterprise to one lucky dominoGuru.com (or at least the dominoGuru.com review...) reader, which is something that I've been doing lately on my own, so good on them!

I really enjoy these giveaways, especially the last one -- which was more of a contest/easter egg-hunt than a straight-up raffle. Might go down that route this time around as well - keep things interesting!

Hopefully you're getting something out of the review format and enjoying the giveaways as much as I am -- in fact, let me know either way via comment or email at ctoohey@dominoguru.com!
